MW2006 BoW: Red Studio: A MoMA Site for Teens

Thank you for nominating Red Studio: A MoMA Site for Teens
[http://www.momaorg/redstudio] for the Education category.

Institution: The Digital Media and Education Departments at The
Museum of Modern Art
Designer[s]: The new redesign of the site was designed and developed
in-house, and includes the main "umbrella" site, the Shahzia
Sikhander interview, the REMIX activity, and the talk back bulletin
board. Two previous sections remain -- the interview with Vito
Acconci, and the youDesign activity. Those were designed by Chopping
Block.
Explanation:
Red Studio was originally launched in the spring of 2004. This year,
in conjunction with the addition of new features and acivities, and
in response to a visitor evaluation study conducted last summer, MoMA
redesigned the "umbrella" site and added an interview with the artist
Shahzia Sikhander (conducted by a group of teens), a collage
activity, and a bulletin board for visitors to send in responses to
posted questions. Upcoming additions include interviews with the
curators Joachim Pissarro and Paola Antonelli. The project has been
the result of a close collaboration between the Digital Media and
Education Departments at The Museum of Modern Art.

You can check the Museums and the Web 2006 Best of the Web site
[http://www.archimuse.com/mw2006/best/] for the results anytime
after March 24, 2006.

All sites are reviewed by the Best of the Web judges. Nominating a
site multiple times does NOT improve its chances of winning an award.

Thank you for your interest in Museums and the Web -- we hope to see
you at MW2006!

Sincerely,
